Major Russian Attacks Eliminate Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Area administrators said the city experienced intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The attacks follow periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
